Abstract
This study on real barley production on the Syrian coast examined economic and commercial indicators during the 2023-2024 agricultural season. This included developing an economic descriptive model and identifying data primarily through a questionnaire targeting 360 farmers. The data were processed to obtain primary data, which was then analyzed and interpreted for cost items (fixed and variable) and their relative importance. Commercial profitability, the role of variable assets, and other basic economic indicators were also evaluated. Findings show that average net commercial profit was approximately £1.5 million, while contractual profitability was 69.7% and 76.5% of capital and production costs, respectively. The variable assets turnover ratio was 2.12, and the economic benefit index was 1.76, reflecting the effectiveness of resource investment. The study also sought to improve input availability, encourage horizontal expansion, and increase yields for stakeholders using improved agricultural technologies, integrating scientific research and agricultural extension, and developing an implementation plan to monitor performance and maximize economic and nutritional benefits
