This study was conducted at Agriculture College/ University of Kufa on 2012-2013 seasons to evaluate the effect of growth regulator GA3 and nutrient solution on some growth and flowering characteristics of Verbena hybrida. A factorial experiment (3x3) was designed, first factor included three concentrations of Gibberilic acid (0,150, and 250) mg.L-1 and second factor included three concentrations of nutrient solution (0,1 and 2) g.L-1 according to Randomized Completely Block Design (R.C.B.D) .
Results showed that, spraying with gibbrellin, liquid organic acid and the interaction between them illustrated significant effect on vegetative, root and flower growth characteristics, the interaction treatment 250 mg.L-1 of gibberellins with 2 g.L-1 of nutrient solution of plant height , number of side branches , number of leaves , dry weight of shoots , leaf content of total chlorophyll , leaf content of total dissolved carbohydrates, dry weight of root, length of flower stem, number of flower and Anthocyanin contents compared with control treatment (without fertilizer) that gave the lowest values of the same characteristics. |
