Abstract
The speed and performance accuracy of hitting the ball are considered to be the foundation in the table tennis sport, the player is capable of learning how to hit the ball fast and hard in a relatively short time but when the accuracy and spinning are included it becomes more difficult. The researches studied different specialized scientific resources in the table tennis sport in addition to the work of one of the researches, who is a coach in the IFK Lund Table tennis club and the other was following the training process and analyzing the players’ skills during the training and the match. They found that many young players emphasizing the speed and the strength of hitting the ball without emphasizing the accuracy of where it falls, which leads to the dispersal of the strokes and having many of them outside the table, which in turn means losing lots points. This inspired the researchers to conduct an analytical study of the speed and the accuracy of the ball for the forehand spiral stroke for the young players. This research aims at analytically studying the speed and the accuracy of the ball in the forehand stroke for young table tennis players. The researchers used the descriptive approach where the sample included 15 players from the Swedish IFK-Lund bordtennis club in Lund. A test was used for the accuracy of where the ball will fall on the table in addition to a high-speed video camera to measure the speed of the ball. After viewing and discussing the results, the researchers concluded the following: - In the test of the accuracy, the players got the lowest value for the speed but did not get the best value for the accuracy i.e. when the player used a lower speed; a higher accuracy was not achieved. - Many players lacked the accuracy of where the ball will fall on the table due to using high-speed strokes. - The players managed to achieve better accuracy when they used a relatively lower speed than the one used in the first test. The researchers recommend the following: - Some players need to train on the accuracy in different speeds.
